At Jan Smith Studios, we understand that perfecting your voice is an art, and we provide tailored vocal pre-production training to ensure you’re prepared for success. With personalized coaching from grammy-nominated producer and vocal coach Mama Jan Smith, you’ll learn techniques that make a real difference, from warm-ups to performance prep. In addition, we include the best vocal preamps in our sessions to ensure you achieve the best sound possible in the studio. These vocal preamps are essential in giving your voice the warmth, clarity, and richness it deserves, helping to make every recording session seamless and professional.

Reserves a total of 4 thirty-minute lessons per month, scheduled once a week on the same day and time with an associate coach. Vocal evaluation required. (Does not apply to Mama Jan’s schedule)

In our vocal pre-production sessions, you’ll focus on vocal warm-ups, breathing techniques, pitch perfection, and emotional expression. We also help with harmonies, vocal technique refinement, and performance confidence. You’ll be ready to perform with the best gear and vocal preamp options.
How long will it take to see improvement in my vocals?
Results vary by individual. Many artists notice improvement in just a few sessions, but consistent practice and dedication will yield the best results.
Can you help me with specific vocal techniques or songs?
Absolutely! Whether you’re focusing on vocal range, working on a particular song, or improving vocal technique, we provide specialized guidance. We’ll also advise on the best preamp vocal gear to optimize your recording experience.
What if I miss a session?
We do not reschedule or offer make-up sessions. If you cannot attend your session, payment is still expected in full. All instructors at Jan Smith Studios are compensated for their time and expertise.
