Heidi Huelskoetter is a classically trained vocalist who graduated from the University of Georgia with a Fine Arts degree. Realizing that singing Opera was not her final destiny, Heidi set out to find coaching that would help her explore and develop her voice outside of the rigors of oratorio and into the world of contemporary vocalizing.

Heidi first came to Jan Smith Studios as a vocal student in 1985.  In working directly with Mama Jan, Heidi learned first hand the importance of tailored instruction for the today’s artist and the transformation of her own voice therein. After four years tutelage, Heidi began training as a protégé’ and started working alongside Jan in 1989. Through her tenure at the studio, Heidi has literally helped to shape and build Jan Smith Studios into what it is today. Having worked with artists in every contemporary genre she understands the demands on the professional singer and enjoys helping artists define their own unique vocal “thumbprint.”

A prolific singer/songwriter in her own right, Heidi was signed to an artist deal in Nashville and worked as a songwriter for PolyGram Music Publishing for five years. She continues to write and perform as a continuance of her artist endeavors and to keep her own vocal chops in play. Heidi feels there is nothing more fulfilling than helping someone develop the ability to express themselves as an artist. Her passion is developing songwriters and helping singers raise their own bar.
